€15, concessions €12. Ticket reservation: weiterbildung@udk-berlin.de
Clare Murphy, lecturer for the continuing education program Artistic Storytelling - Storytelling in Art and Education at Berlin Career College and a storyteller herself, uses stories to transport her audiences into a world of possibility through wonder and awe.
Her work ranges from captivating performances to transformative trainings. Clare demonstrates that stories can serve to celebrate and connect humanity. She uses storytelling with groups and teams worldwide to transform cultures, amplify individual voices, and create powerful connections.
Clare knows firsthand the transformative power of a well-told story.
In her performance The Liar King, Clare Murphy blends contemporary news reporting and folklore into a satire about power and foolish kings: In Damascus, a king desperately fights for his throne, a citizen is determined to build a life for himself, and Syria is at the mercy of a lie-obsessed king. Girls confront monsters, beggars face kings, and no one knows which liar will prevail. "The Liar King" is an adaptation of the novel "Damascus Nights" by the exiled Syrian writer Rafik Schami.
