going wild, storytelling workshop in Ireland this weekend

One of the joys of this job is the variety.  Some weeks I am teaching at a university like Central Saint Martins, other weeks I am performing in a castle like Alden Biesen.  It keeps me on my toes.

This coming weekend I have the absolute joy of returning to my homeland to work with Ciara Hinksman of EarthForce Education and Jenny Dungan.  They are both Forest School leaders.  Ciara is also one of my oldest friends.

Forest School is a worldwide phenomenon.  Take people and place them in nature, teach them about the outer world and they will learn also about their inner world.  Or as one website says: “Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.”

It sounds simple, but it’s profound the impact it is having on people around the world.  Here’s what they are saying about Ciara’s work on Irish news  https://vimeo.com/65611610

So this weekend I will teach storytelling skills to people who work in nature.  We will be nestled into the wild countryside here http://slinabande.ie/

There might be a couple of places left.  Contact Ciara directly if you want to join us.  http://www.earthforceeducation.com/courses/storytelling-weekend-workshop-with-clare-murphy/
