Valley Fest, Chew Valley Lake, Somerset, UK
Valley Fest began in 2014 after Luke Hasell took over the farm when his parents both passed away when only in their early fifties. To honour their memory Luke decided to put on an event that would encompass their zest for life, their love of good food and which would be a true celebration of life to share with those you love.
The Community Farm, which is where Valley Fest is held, is a community-owned social enterprise, growing and selling organic food through a box delivery service. Luke was BBC Food & Farming’s Outstanding Farmer of the Year nominee in 2014 and is passionate about connecting people with where their food comes from and helping them to reconnect with the land that it’s grown on. More than 500 local people share ownership of the farm and we love to throw our arms wide open to a few more of you for the big old knees up that is Valley Fest!
