In this talk, storyteller Clare Muireann Murphy looks at how the act of telling and listening to stories has changed minds, shifted perspectives and saved lives.
According to evolutionary biologists, human beings have been telling each other stories for one hundred thousand years. They are at the heart of every culture in the world. So if stories are our oldest tools, what are they used for?
Clare explains how stories have transformed trauma into growth, re-formed identity in asylum seekers and veterans and built bridges between broken communities. Drawing on her own experience, stories from around the world and the latest scientific research, Clare will show you how story is the original superpower.
